The objective of Course #8: Implant Supported Over dentures is to teach you what implant over dentures are, how they differ from other over dentures, the various types of attachments, how to fabricate them, how to process attachments into dentures, perform intra oral pickups and how to reline over dentures, how to design metal bars and the techniques necessary to fabricate metal bars and over dentures. As well, the reader will be introduced to the terminology commonly used in implant dentistry plus find answers to several of the most commonly asked questions by patients. On successful completion of this course, you should be able to take proper impressions, choose the best attachments for the desired result, direct the laboratory to fabricate the metal bar and prosthesis and secure the prosthesis properly onto the metal bar.
